The PlanFirst Design process is composed of five essential elements – Planning, Design, Development, Implementation, and Promotion.

Planning
There is an old phrase in carpentry "Measure twice; cut once." At WebPlanning, we have a similar approach to web design. We treat planning like a good carpenter treats measurement.

We believe that a solid foundation is the key for building websites, and that planning is the key to a solid foundation.

Design
The design phase of a website consists of establishing the "look and feel" of the website. The look and feel of website refers to the color scheme, the graphics, and the flow of website. The design is responsible for the creating a potential customer's first impression of your business.

At WebPlanning, we will build a website based on your designs or we will design your website for you. Our goal during the design phase is to generate a design that reflects your vision of your business.

Development
The development phase of the website design process refers to the process of actually writing the source code that will render the website on the world wide web.

At WebPlanning, we are experienced in the use of several web-based programming languages - HTML, DHTML, JavaScrip, ASP (Active Server Pages), SQL, CSS (Cascading Style Sheets) and Flash. The programming language or languages used are directly related to the needs and the requirements for the website.

Implementation
Implementation is the act of making your website live on the internet.

At Web Planning, we use a four phase approach to make this happen.
  1. Protect your website by practicing Version Control.
  2. Test & document the functionality of the website in a staging environment.
  3. Place your website code on the internet.
  4. Test & compare the results with the testing results from the staging environment.
Promotion
Promotion is by far one of the most important aspects of the web design process. If potential customers can not find your website by conducting searches in one of the many search engines, how will anyone ever find and visit your site?

At WebPlanning, we will add additional programming to insure that many of the different search engines will find and correctly display your website.
