What do you need the web to do for your business?

That is just one of several key questions that you ask yourself and your staff before jumping head first into the world wide web. Since a website can be a very substantial expense for your business, it is important to know what your web needs are before you decide how you want your website to perform.

Here are some initial questions to consider:
  1. What do you want your website to do? (Advertise your business, Sell products, Education, etc.)
  2. What/Who is your target audience? (Existing customers, Potential customers, Employees, etc.)
  3. What are some adjectives or phrases that you would use to describe your future website?
  4. What colors do you like?
  5. Do you have a logo for your business?
  6. Do you have a domain name? (www.yourbusiness.com)
  7. Do you have a host for your website?
  8. Do you need email? (yourname@yourbusiness.com)
  9. How do you plan to promote your website?
  10. Will you need someone to maintain your website?
